Was thinking yesterday, are there any other bands past/present that have/had 2 drummers like the Dead?

Rob Zombie typically doubles acoustic drum tracks with multi layered drum samples, or at least that is what a friend of mine constantly brags about knowing.

Once Peter Gabriel left Genesis and Phil Collins took over the lead vocals they added a second drummer, Chester Thompson for touring purposes. Phil would still play some drums too.

The Allman Bros quickly comes to mind. I'm trying to think of some others though...

Butthole Surfers
(and they also went through periods with only drummer)

there were many similarities between the two.
i was a card carrying Butthead when a friend turned me on to the Dead in 1987.

Muchos similarities, both bands quite adept at melting your face. Both timeless, both unique, both notnotnot for everyone.

Oh, and Eagles had two drummers: Don Henley and his ego.

Ba-da-bum!

(a joke--please no hissy fits or laundry lists of the good deeds Don has done).

"i was a card carrying Butthead"

Damn funny; never could graduate to cardcarrying. All I ever got was a bit of tissue, and title of "Buttwipe, JG".

Yeah, it's hard to imagine it without it playing in the background. Not sure if I got the PitB right with Bob down below, but it defn had lots of "ba duh dut dut do dut duh, ba du dut do duh"...

Little Feat has Richie Hayward and Sam Clayton. Although Clayton's more of a percussionist now, he used to play a drum kit.

Pink Floyd have played with two drummers since 1988. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntm1YfehK7U

Also I did a search - can`t work out if this is serious or Spinal Tap 2 but these fellas seem to have 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2bnKeUvKG0
Just watched that 2nd clip all the way through. I`ve never seen anything so ridiculous in my whole life. They`ve even got a choir. Anyone know if this is real?
